Week 2: Doing Business while Palestinian Online Gathering
You can find the 2021 gathering here.
On January 10 we addressed the issues that come with trying to run a business as a Palestinian. We were joined Ashraf Bakri, a Palestnian entrepreneur in the tourism industry.
More about our guests:
Ashraf Bakri is a Palestinian tourism entrepreneur, with a focus on free independent travel, community-based tourism and digitalization. I was involved in starting multiple community-based tourism projects that cater to independent and small group travelers visiting Palestine including guest houses, hostels and digital tourism marketing projects. Among those, I’d highlight Auberg-Inn guesthouse in Jericho, Area D Hostel in Ramallah, Mount41 Hostel in Jericho, Car Rental Jerusalem, and Hantourism: Palestine’s first community-based tourism platform, and which he thinks of as the umbrella that gathers a lot of his work. Besides, since COVID-19, he’s also been working as a freelance tourism digitalization consultant for sector development projects, including Jahzeen and Destination Palestine Media Library.
