Urgent Action

UK Action: Pressure MP Debbie Abrahams

Like last week, when we put pressure on Rushanara Ali, we would like you to pressure Debbie Abrahams from the Labour Party, who abstained from the ceasefire vote in. In your email, express your discontent with her decision to abstain from the ceasefire vote in the UK Parliament and demand her to join the call for an urgent ceasefire. Email her at abrahamsd@parliament.uk.

North America: Share FOSNA Statement

Friends of Sabeel North America (FOSNA), in conjunction with a diverse coalition of Christian voices who long for justice and peace in Palestine-Israel, issued a statement. In this statement they call for:

  • An immediate ceasefire by all parties;
  • The adequate provision of humanitarian aid;
  • Accountability for the perpetrators and enablers of war crimes, in accordance with international law;
  • The comprehensive dismantling of the brutal and dehumanizing regime of Israeli apartheid, including its occupation and blockade, with full rights and equality for all living in the Holy Land, and the right of return for all refugees; and,
  • An end to US military aid to Israel, an end to settler violence and IDF complicity in the West Bank, the release of all Palestinian and Israeli hostages, administrative detainees, and political prisoners, and full compliance with international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions.

The statement is at https://fosna.good.do/gazahospital/OpenLetter/.

Please share it with any American Christian body and individual that you know.

Worldwide: Share Ceasefire Images

While the pause in fighting and release of hostages have been good news, they are not a ceasefire. We must not be complacent and let Israel go back to indiscriminately killing innocent Gazans.

The images below are perfect for sharing on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (X), or wherever else you like to be social with your media. You can also just share our own posts on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter (X):

Ongoing: Pressure Governments

Until there is a ceasefire, we want you to think globally, but act locally. Israel won’t stop its assault on Gazans until the international community pressures it to do so. So far, only Arab countries are openly calling for a ceasefire. Let’s change this!

Email or call your own representative, MP, or other leader, urging them to call for an immediate ceasefire. Did you email last week? Email again! Politicians won’t act on a single email. They need to be reminded over and over again that this matters.

Work with members of your local activism group (Friends of Sabeel or otherwise) to identify which politicians and leaders are the most likely to listen and act. Share their email addresses and phone numbers.

We will repeat this action every week until a ceasefire is in place.

Share this action and your local contact information on social media. Use the hashtags #Palestine #Gaza #CeasefireNOW #KumiNow

Kumi Action

First, read the Kairos Palestine document, then sign the “Cry of Hope”

Next, send the Kairos Document to your local church. Include a message such as “Please include the plight of Palestinians in your prayers, sermons, and work as a church. The Kairos document can help you: https://www.kairospalestine.ps/index.php/about-kairos/kairos-palestine-document.”

You can then share the document via Facebook, Twitter, or email with both your religious and nonreligious friends. Include the message: “The Kairos Palestine Document outlines the suffering of all Palestinians, and should be a model for peoples of all faiths in how to approach and solve the Israeli occupation.” Include a link to this page of the Kumi Now website along with the hashtags #KairosPalestine, #KumiNow, and #Kumi48.
